Blog Traffic Generation Tips For Smart Entrepreneurs

For smart entrepreneurs, website traffic is essential to your blog. No matter what type of online marketing you do, no matter how good your product or service is, if you do not have a steady stream of new customers and prospective buyers visiting your site, you will have a hard time turning a profit.

I've listed the top three easiest and least expensive ways I know for the newest blogger to generate traffic to their site:
1. Write fresh and unique content daily (or a post a day increases your blogs net worth). Don't be concerned with writing a long post. Just write a post. Make it original, in your unique style. Write about any topic related to your sites theme that you are genuinely interested in. This sincere and real style sends a powerful message as your readers will feel your passion for the subject. Learn to trust your thoughts as they are entering your fingers on the keyboard and just write as if you were talking to your best friend. You can organize this first draft later, adding headings, bolds, italics, bulleted lists, etc. Also, if you read a post on someone elses blog that you like, write a post on your own blog about it and create a link in that post to their blog URL. They may do the same for you.
Remember, search engines want you to offer fresh, useful, and specific information. They will reward you by increasing your blogs standing on their pages. Most importantly, you must feel extremely confident about what you are sharing with others to be perceived as an authority on your subject.
2. Offer something useful and free to your readers. Create a report, guide or free e-book. Then, start advertising it online- using either paid or free ads, depending on your budget. Just offer really useful tips to an ultra-specific audience. For example, if you are into network marketing, offer tips on copywriting, SEO or keyword research, how to be disciplined, staying productive, etc.
For new bloggers, tip#1 above-writing every day- is how you begin to discover what you can create that will be considered useful information to new readers. Your free info product will naturally develop as you write more posts. In this daily post-writing, your interests are being further developed and your authority on the subject grows. Soon you will have written enough posts to organize them around a specific topic which can then be made into a longer info product for people who crave specific, detailed information.
After you have created the content for your free e-book you can, as I said, turn it into a PDF (Portable Document Format). To do this, you can use what a PDF converter-there are free ones like Open Office. You can then submit this PDF you have created to what is known as a "document sharing" site. DocStoc is the first example of a document sharing site that comes to mind. DocStoc is not only a document sharing platform but it is a social networking community for professionals. The site hosts thousands of business and professional documents which you can preview and download free of charge. There are many other document sharing sites such as Gazhoo, Scribd etc. Just do a little online research as well-spend a few minutes researching "places to advertise for free", etc. and you are on your way!
3. Use Social Network Sites as your advertising platform (but not on your personal site-don't confuse the two). This last tip is actually two tips in one (like Double Jeopardy questions-lucky you!). Create a Twitter or Facebook page for your blog and post/tweet every single post you write to these social networking sites. Lastly, syndicate your posts on article directories such as ezinearticles.com and squidoo.com (those are just two of my favorites but if you do a search for "top 50 article directories" you will find a great listing of article directories to submit to by traffic and page rank.
Enjoy your blogging experiences and stay tuned for more tips on how to drive traffic to your blog. If you have a favorite way to drive traffic, feel free to offer your comments to this post and we can all learn a little.
